Pass the blog

Marco's been enjoying his summer. In fact, he has a whole life away from us! He regularly gets picked up from daycare by Grandma and Grandpa for day trips with the cousins, most recently Fairyland, Lake Temescal and Gilroy Gardens. And just last weekend, he spent two nights with Grammy at the cabin. What a lucky boy!

(Lucky parents too with two nights to ourselves in Sonoma!)

Alright... Go!

Please let me know if you think this video is HYSTERICAL. On a walk down for frozen yogurt with the neighbors, Marco and Avery came up with this game. We just watched in hysterics, tears streaming down our faces. Maybe it was the roadies...

Pizza ROI

We figure the breakeven on the oven is about 250 pizzas. We're fast approaching. We threw together a quick pizza dinner for Taki's birthday recently. 12 pizzas... four kids... 30 beers... just a regular Friday night at the Cecchins.
Marco has started calling his barbeque his "pizza oven." We have a real problem.

You can stretch your kids about an hour longer by popping in a movie. Heather, however, can not be stretched.

What happens at Grandma's...

Just got this message from Barbara, "Having a wonderful time. Better that you are not here."

Yard

The yard is looking amazing. Pictures don't do it justice. We're aaaaaalmost done. I highly recommend an ugly "before" and low expectations. I came home last week and literally screamed when I saw the lawn. Amazing.
Shoutout to Gina G. who took my frantic gardening call this week and immensely improved the yard. Thanks G!

Happy Birthday Aunt Joanne!

Jeff threw a rager for Aunt Joanne's birthday. 18 pizzas, 8 kids and 23 family members.

He did an amazing job, including setting up two long tables on the deck. It was like eating at a Tuscan villa, only I had to go to work the next day.

Awards go to Megan for her gorgeous and delicious cakes, Uncle Lenny for most inventive surprise pizza (guacamole and tomato), cousin Kami for being the best babysitter ever, and of course, Jeff for being entertainer extraordinare. Here's the proof... The chef and the birthday girl.

Rollin on the River

We had a GREAT overnight visit with Jackson and Edgar this weekend at their River "home." Marco loved Jackson so much that he affectionately refers to him as "that boy."

We hit the river in style. Marco and I went tubing - he loved it! Jackson and Edgar even showed me how to kneeboard. Super, super fun!

Marco wanted to do it too. He said, "Mama, I want to go on the skateboard next!" I told him he could go when he's six. And he can have gum when he's five. He has no concept of what that means, just that he can't do it. :(

We saw another kneeboarder and Marco said, "Mama! That boy skateboards just like you!"

Contain your shock, but the Blazona home is by far the fanciest, most stylish abode on the Stockton Delta.

I'm right because I'm the Mom.

Marco kept putting his feet up on the coffee table. I asked him to stop, but he tipped the table onto the ground. I said, "That's why we don't put our feet on the table!" And he said, "But you do it Mama!" (Blast.)

Jeff asked Marco not to touch something in my purse. Marco asked why. Jeff said, "Because it's not yours." Marco exclaimed, "But it's not yours either Dada! That's Mama's! Don't touch it." (Hmm... good point.)

Oasis

Landscaping Project - Day One.
I come home and I'm giddy with the progress.

Jeff: I mean, it's okay, it's ditches and rocks.
Me: I know! Isn't it gorgeous?

You be the judge.

I'm an awesome Mom, part 4

Last week while we were off, Marco and I headed down to the park and played among a sea of children, Moms and nannies. There's a whole world out there going on while I'm at work. Who knew?

We played until lunchtime when all the Moms and nannies pulled out healthy nutritious sack lunches for their kids. Damn. I brought raisins. Marco said, "I'm hungry Mama." I said, "Do you want raisins?" And he said, "Uh, can we go to the Burrito Store?"

My kid totally gets me.

I'm an awesome Mom, part 3

Yes, Marco got to eat his cereal while he watching morning cartoons.
Good thing I'm not home all the time, Marco could turn out to be a spoiled brat.

I'm an awesome Mom, part 2

As a treat during Marco's week off, we took an evening walk to check out the new frozen yogurt place on Lakeshore. It was met to rave reviews by Marco and Avery. Avery even shared some bites with his lady. Yum...
