Carrots, cousins and Clara.

Here are some pics I stole from Clara's birthday party. All the way to the Bridge on the way home from the party, Marco was saying "Bye Bye Aunt Sara, Bye Bye Clara!"

Pictured below with carrot, cousins and Mama. Carrots are the current fav. I have to hide them until the end of the meal or it is all that he'll eat. "More carrots Mama!"Marco has recently started calling me "Sarah." Uh. Real "punny" Marco. I don't think so. I have explained to him that I want to be "Mama" until he's 60. And yet, tonight at home...

"Sarrrrrah, where arrrrre you?"

26 miles across the sea...

...Santa Catalina is awaitin' for me.

We headed out to Catalina to visit Papa and Grandma last week. Marco is thankfully turning out to be quite the boat baby. His sea legs are better than Jeff's, he loves fish, dolphins, his life jacket and he loves, loves boat buttons. "Grandma - no touch?!"
Waking up on vacation isn't too bad.... even at 6:15 am. Nothing two episodes of Dora and these views wouldn't cure anyway.
New trip talking:

"Papaaaa.... wha ah yoooooou?" (Papa, where are you?)
"I okay!" (After falling)
"Copter in the sky!"
"Where Papa's boat go?" "Where dolphin go?" "Where big rock go?" (You try explaining an Island.) Insert anything and everything combined with hands and shrugging.

Last year's trip here. Thanks for another wonderful year Poseidon crew!

"What a sweet little boy"

LONG BEACH - September 12, 2009
"What a sweet little boy" was not what the passengers of Jet Blue flight number 250 were saying as 19-month pajama clad Marco John Cecchin screamed his way through the first half of his Oakland homeward-bound flight.

The normally charming young gent could be heard in Row 1 all the way from where his clever parents sat themselves in the last row.

Bedtime proved to be a less fruitful time to fly than hoped. Choruses of "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! No MAMA! No DADA! OFF! OFF MAMA!" coupled with pushing finally led to his parents evacuating their seats while Marco threw himself down on all three seats and fell fast asleep.

Mr. & Mrs. Cecchin offered the pilot to land while they stood in the aisle, however one obtuse flight attendent insisted, "You must sit and he must be buckled."

The Cecchins make their home in Oakland, CA where son Marco likes to sleep flat on his stomach.

We have a talker.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a talker. Although I'm not running for a DNA test, I am questioning Marco's chatter at 1am.

Last week he woke up in the middle of the night for the first time in almost a year. Jeff and I were so confused, we were literally frozen. This was the monologue at full volume coming from Marco's room.

"Maaaamaaa... I want upppppp.
I want oooout.... I want sleep sack off...

I want play choo chooooo... I want play Dora basketballlll...
I want snaaaaack... I want agua milk...

Maaamaaa?"

"I want kiss."

Yes, it has happened. Marco has left his mother's apron to request a kiss from another woman. And, it was Adele. (Pictured here with Kristy. Sorry I missed the moment.)

They played. She sat next to him at dinner and fed him green beans. And then, it happened. He leaned over and said, "Dell. I want kiss."
My tears have nearly dried.
