Another day, another Giants win.

Marco took a date (neighbor Avery) to her first Giants game. He's a seasoned veteran (to read 3). Obviously, she LOVES baseball. I mean, just look at her face.

No moooooo' milk.

Thanks for all the formula suggestions. I chose three of the selections you all offered. We tried one last night to horrible results again. I spoke with my doctor who is calling this a cow's milk "intolerance." Not to be confused with "allergy."

Doc said to give it a week or so and give the soy option a try (also one of your suggestions, guess I should've started with that one) and see how that goes. She said if that doesn't work, we will stay the course so to speak and consider introducing food around four months instead of six.

Thanks again - will keep you updated!

Bat boy.

As promised, here is Marco with his free bat from the Giants game yesterday and Jeff's free bat from a Giants game circa 1982. Dad's is much more Marco's size, but he seems to enjoy swinging both. Marco's comin' out swingin'!

Orange. It's not just a fruit.

Decked out in our orange, we hit Marco's second Giants game! We had beautiful weather and Marco didn't actually speak, but if he did Jeff says he would say "Zito is overpaid."

It was bat day for kids and Marco qualified!! Jeff was actually more excited for the full-sized bat, I'll post pics later.

We BARTed, stroller "parked" and hit the new "North Beach" of the ballpark (think ravioli and Peroni). Marco was an angel, sucking down four ounces and dozing off during the game. He had the most comfy spot in the ballpark, so he didn't miss a thing.
Here's all the proof:
My boys having fun!
Feeding himself - ha! Lately while he's eating he likes to hold something... blanket, burp cloth, my shirt. Why not his bottle? :)
Obviously, Marco is confused why he's sitting in a giant glove. Hmmm....

Che italiano!

Saturday, the Pecorellas joined us for brunch! Sofia is seven months and quite the lady (pay no attention to her dress lifting.) She was definitely drawn to the "Babe Magnet." Thanks for the hand-me-down-down t-shirt Mason! Yes, that was two "downs."
Oh and here's my jammin' frittata.

Bully.

Oops.com

Okay, so here's how it happened. I was ordering safeway.com (groceries delivered to your kitchen counter) and Coca-Cola Zero was Buy 2, Get 3 Free. Great deal right? I mean, Zero is the BOMB and I'm all for a bargain. So, I place them in my "cart." Then I realized that I had accidentally placed the Coca-Cola Zero Cherry in my "cart," so I added the regular also. I had planned to delete the Cherry, but forgot.

Coca-Cola Zero anyone?
On a "load off my mind" note, this morning we "booked" our daycare. This one is a little out of the way for us (Montclair) and a little more than we wanted to spend (I'll spare you) but at least it's a spot and you really do get what you pay for. The place and people are great. Marco will start May 12th and I'll be back to work May 15th (boooooooo, no offense Kristin).

On another tangent, here's a photo from last night before bed. Marco is dudded out in possibly the most cozy pajamas ever, part of his "beep beep" set from the Bradens. Please note him drooling and sucking on his hands like crazy. Believe it or not, the Doc says that it's the beginning of teething. Eek! So grown up. Next stop, formula.

Yan Can Cause Drowsiness

Ever have that moment where you're standing at the ATM ready to withdrawal cash when you realize that you have absolutely NO CLUE what your PIN number is? No? Really? I'd love to say me either, but as it turns out, Mommy brain (still not a believer) set in and I've forgotten my PIN. Gone. Completely gone from my head although I use it regularly.

So.... I headed out to the middle east bay to have my card re-pinned and I met some co-workers for lunch. Marco was soooo exhausted but refused to miss out on the fun. We ate Yan Can Cook, and as you can tell, Yan can add another thing to his resume. Yan Can make babies fall asleep sitting up in your lap. ha!
I did not write on his forehead or shave off his eyebrows.

Put offs and pandering...

Well, after several interviews and visits, we decided on a daycare for Marco. We called today to secure his spot and THEY'VE CLOSED. Closed. Closed the daycare. As in, it's gone, the last day was Friday.

So.... (here's the pandering part) we've put in several calls, but does anyone have a daycare in Oakland that they'd like to recommend for me? Hmmm??

Or would anyone like to quit their job to be underpaid by me and care for a really clever 4-month old? Anyone? Hellooo?

Birthdays, friends and zzzzzz.....

We had a pretty busy Saturday this weekend, which left me hoarse by the end of the day and with absolutely no voice at all this morning. Eek! Good thing this isn't a video blog, or it may play out like a game of charades. First word...

Cousin Tommy's first birthday party in Pacifica was relocated from the Park to G-ma and G-pa Cecchins house due to the... err... Pacifica weather. In preparation for the park, we had tried several hat options on Marco. Sadly, many didn't fit! I bought lots of little hats before he was born thinking... winter... hats are cute... but I didn't prepare myself for my baby having such rockin' hair, so he hasn't worn any of them! Any small heads out there looking for hats? Anyone?
The party was really fun, most of the kids had fun, although Marco and Clara napped wrapped in matching blankets. Marco's goodie bag was filled with formula samples, so we'll be giving that a go this week sometime. Thanks Auntie M!
The theme was Thomas the Tank Engine (which explains Jeff in the engineer's hat I hope) so Tom made a personalized Thomas cake for Tommy which was AMAZING. Seriously, like, maybe-this-is-his-new-profession good.
On the way out of town, we stopped in to see the Trecrocis to drop a birthday gift for Bethie. Bethie was very proud to hold the baby, Ben was so sweet to Marco and Luke I think wondered why he wasn't the baby. They've all gotten so big, it's incredible.
Heading out to the Middle East Bay, we had a great dinner with friends while Marco hung with the babies and slept in the swing. We waaaay overstayed our welcome (shocking), got home late and hence woke up with no voice. Needless to say, we spent Sunday curled up on the couch while Jeff baked several types of bread. Yum!
Here is Jeff with the Eggert girls. Isn't Makenzie becoming so pretty? Jeff likes to hang with Sadie because baldness is relative. First Jeff thought that was his bald spot in the mirror, but luckily it was Sadie, so I got to post the pic.

Proof!

Were you expecting to see Marco with today's newspaper in hand?

Yesterday Marco rolled over like five times in a row. Of course, I didn't get the camera until the last time and it happens so quickly, I only caught the end. So, it's like, kind of proof.

This second video is intended for mature audiences only. It's what happens when you keep returning your son to his stomach to make him roll over too many times. Terrible mother.

Marco... Fetch!

Alright, alright, he doesn't fetch, but he does roll over! Yesterday, he was on his belly for tummy time, when he pushed up his arms and rolled over. He was looking quite confused about how it happened and when I screamed and clapped, he looked downright frightened! HA. He rolled over twice before when he was about six weeks old, but I'm calling this one legit.

Later I was wondering aloud about what noises hippos made and I imitated one coming out of the water and he LAUGHED. I've heard a couple laugh like sounds, but this was totally legit laughter. He has such a dry sense of humor and the hippo thing really killed him.

I tried unsuccessfully to catch both of these things on camera. It's true what they say, don't work with animals or children. But anyway, here are some unrelated shots.
Last night we went to the Baby Brigade movie at the Parkway with Heather and Niko. Niko giggled during the movie before he fell asleep. ha! It is not a comedy. Marco slept after eating and some bouncing. Thank goodness because if we'd had another unsuccessful go at it, I think we would've retired the movie efforts. You can read Heather's blog for her account of the evening, I'm in denial.

Anyway.... we saw The Other Boelyn Girl (right?) and it was really good I thought. But maybe it was the beer. Jeff and Taki went to the Giants game. Both events ended in a killing. Go Giants!

Cecchin Look-alike Meter

HA! Stole this from Melanie's blog, funny.

It's a hair off.

Marco and I headed to Sacramento for VERY sunny, warm weather and a visit with Grammy. Taking her cue from Grandma C, Grammy styled Marco's hair. Again, a dork. Obviously, he was thrilled.Regardless we had a really nice day. I wanted to dip Marco into the pool (just his feet!) but since it took my breath away, I decided against it. Maybe later this summer.

Look at him... so happy here... not even a clue how Grammy wanted to rip off his little linen outfit to iron it.Now that he wears a belt, he's quite the man and figured he deserved to a turn in Grammy's chair. Sneaky little charmer.

Marco's 11-week update... He's a big kid now!

Marco has been enjoying many things lately, here are some shots. After perusing my witty banter, I know you're exclaiming "But who cares? Where are the pics?" So, here are a few...

Although Marco has been sleeping in Jack's Moses basket in his crib since he was about five days old, he's recently transitioned into the crib in itself. Wahoo! It finally doesn't seem as if the crib will swallow him up. Another great addition to the crib was a Tiny Love mobile from Niko. Heather and Katie call it "baby crack" and indeed it is. The first hit was free and he loves it. Morning, noon, night, loves it. What do they put in that thing?

This is not actually a picture of him sleeping in it. This is just him showing us what it would be like if it were nighttime and if he were sleeping in it - such a champion model. He doesn't really sleep in short overalls, but it's supposed to be 80 degrees here today, work with me.

Also shown here is the sleep positioner. He's supposed to be all the way at the top, but he just slides down during the night so it ends up like more of a slide to a pillow. Oh well!
Marco is still loving his changing table. So much so that Jeff wanted to bring it to Ventura with us. ha. He's liking the Bumbo (shown here covered with a blanket) and even enjoys tummy time!
And guess what? Marco finally loves his swing! Or as I call it, "that genius swing invention." Phewf.

Boys Day Out. Moms Night In.

Yesterday, I headed out dressed "up" in my fat pants to judge a marketing competition for my Board of Directors. An adult task! Jeff watched Marco, who actually did work with him at a customer's house. Jeff's co-worker deemed Marco a Sarah look-alike (YES!) when they visited the jobsite. But I digress...

Jeff did a great job and had a nice day with Marco, even though I came home to this ensem. No pants and John Deere socks. Truly a white trash (and happy!) baby. At least he matches.
So, he had some bottles, but my apparent "Mommy brain" (which I don't believe in btw) did not realize that the judging was from 9:30 - 3. I showed up at 10 (moron mommy) and thought it ended at 2. Long story short, Marco had a bottle of formula and once again began throwing up all afternoon. It was terrible!

So, I still have to try soy and organic formula options, but I know that several of you had experiences with this... maybe an allergy? Maybe you could recommend something? Nicole? Jen?

Post-puke wrap up... After eating several times and sleeping through the night, Marco has awoke refreshed, healthy and happy again.

First, first, first... Go Giants!

Not even 11 weeks old and we're rollin to Giants Opening Day. What a life!

Today, Marco enjoyed many firsts... first BART ride, first stroller valet parking and first Giants game. He slept or cried (boo Padres) through most of the day, cuddled up in the Bjorn or wondering why it was so WINDY.

Of course, we ran into most of St. Ignatius HS alum and about 40,000 fans toasted Marco with Take Me Out To The Ballgame and Miller Lites. He was minding his own business in his only hoody sweatshirt which happens to be blue, when he was accused of being a Dodgers fan. Of course, he erupted in a crying fit. Poor baby. Otherwise, Marco seemed to enjoy it all and spent most of the day taking it in.
Times they are a'changin. Here are Jeff and Chuck pushing their strollers.
We ran into Colin and Mike Mulry. Great to see them, I mean, since dinner on Friday. We got Marco a certificate to proclaim his first Giants game, but Colin showed him up with a personalized baseball bat. Darn!
BARTing (it's a verb) with the D'Angelos. DO NOT tell Brooke they went to the Giants game.
Marco is inducted to the punk rock Giants fan club. The orangehawk asked if he could flip off the camera. Notice Marco's tiny fauxhawk. HA!
His favorite part of the day was being changed in the bathroom under the flourescent lights and being put in this sweatshirt.
Here he is in his Giants garb. Thanks to Aunt Darcy and Uncle Kevin for the Giants shirt, Jeanne and Bill Barulich for the orange pants and Niko for the Giants socks, which kept falling off, so we had to switch to the orange runners from the D'Angelos. The Padres winning evokes actual tears.
I heart BART.

Burgers Baby.

The Spriggs family and Amy Lund came to see us, which was really great. We barbequed hamburgers. The even mo' greater part was Jeff's buns. Hubba hubba.
Hee, hee... Jeff baked the burger buns! While we were in Ventura, Linda gave Jeff some of her "starter." It's used like yeast, but it's made from fermented grapes or something. I'm sure I'm saying this all wrong, but here's the bottom line - Jeff is out of control. It's alive, he has to "feed" it and I'm a bit worried that I'm going to wake up to a scene from Little Shop of Horrors.

Also, last week's ciabatta bread and this weeks buns make me wonder "Aren't I supposed to be losing weight?"

"Lundaaaay" brought Marco this "Fire Chief" hat and a matching sweatshirt -very nice! Is it just me or does our living room look fabulous? I think it's her hair color complementing the room! We should keep her around.

Pee Wee Cecchin alla Mop

Mop sent photos of the part in the middle hairstyle that she gave Marco a few nights ago. I hesitate to show his dorky side, but really can you STAND this?? It makes me have hysterical laughter.... and a bit of shame that he looks so happy to have this Trumpstyle.

Now, to be fair, he loves to have his hair played with and brushed, so maybe Mop didn't offer him a mirror before he shared these smiles from all the attention.
Please, please don't let your child see these pics. I'd hate to get my son beat up on the playground.

HA!
