Party with my mateys.

Rocked a pirate party for Will's 3rd. Marco spoke Spanish to the caterer. Ha. Arrrr!

Yeehaw!

It seems like just yesterday when we brought breakfast burritos to the hospital to meet baby Jack D'Angelo IV, but today we celebrated his first birthday in cowboy style.

Cheers to great friends. (note my Grandpa Graf's belt buckle fashioned to fit Marco!)

It's so hard to say goodbye.

Marco is growing up. He's regularly referring to us as "Dadd" (emphasis on the d) and "Mom." I'm not sure if I'm heartbroken or just pissed.

He's very aware that my name is Mama, so in typical flirt fashion, when he wants something, he turns on the charm. "Can I have it please Mama?" and if he's really laying it on thick, he might even couple it with a snuggle, a kiss and adds, "Please Mama cat."

Joking aside.

Surprisingly, Marco may have to play the straight man unless his humor comes in.

"Marco, why can't dogs drive?"
"Because they're not 16!"

(Correct answer: Because they can't find a barking space.)

I want a pony!

We raged at birthday parties over the weekend, including baby Olive turning two and baby Josie turning one. Do you think we should stop calling them babies yet?

Marco insisted that Olive should get a princess dress and because I had insider knowledge, we brought My Little Pony for Josie.

Jeff asked Marco if he rode a horse, but he adamantly explained, "No Dadd!! It's called a 'hony!'"

Me and my buddy

Marco is our little pal. He's even a good helper and errand master - with the right incentives, of course.

Grocery shopping takes a handful of potato wedges from the deli and about 30 pounds of groceries to contain him.

Marco loads the groceries onto the belt and he gets to use the pen on the keypad.

Easy.

Homecoming

Mike moved back from San Diego!

He's working with Jeff, living in Oakland and is fast becoming Marco's new hero, cool uncle Mike.

This has legs.

Once again, Super Grandma has enrolled Marco in a class at the the Chabot Science Center. The topic... Bugs.

We bought Marco a bug net in preparation and he's very ready. Without Tommy this session, I think he'll learn mostly about the snacks. Ah, Marco... a one-of-a-kind love bug.

Webster's

Marco got himself undressed and put on his PJ pants all by himself.

"Marco! Great job!"
"Is that amazable mama?"
