"I love you and Dada and I think I love Mazzy at school because she has light-up shoes JUST LIKE ME! Can we have Valentine's again? Next year?!? YESSS!"
Marco relished Valentine's Day this year. On it's eve, we snuck door-to-door and left secret Valentines on each our our neighboring houses' porches. We pulled off our sneakiness amid giggles and tiptoes and were only busted once by Avery's Daddy. Marco scolded him to secrecy that he wouldn't tell Avery and Dean tonight, but would remind them that they maybe should look in their mailbox, tomorrow.
We deposited 25 Valentine's Day playdoh containers at school amid the 29 little decorated bags. (Arg, they gave us the wrong number.) We took home a bag of LOOT that I'm sure we'll be negotiating over for the next few weeks.
I love being the only girl in the house on Valentine's Day. :)
(Unrelated but adorable love pic of Marco and one of his favorite gals, Sofia, at pizza the next day. Can you stand how much he looks like a teenager?)

Grandparents
I was so fortunate to grow up knowing not only all four of my grandparents, but my great grandmother Mary or "Granny." Now that we have our very own Granny Alice, seeing the relationship between her and Marco from a mother's eyes is a blessing.
We're so lucky to visit with Granny often. She's a GREAT sport who is always game for anything, even though we always wear her out. This particular adventure was a lunch date in Vacaville, followed by shopping and some fun at the Nut Tree.
Spending time with Granny makes us appreciate a good attitude, long life and health. And we really, really like her good genes! :)

Boys will be boys.
While I was away on a girls' trip to Cabo, the boys spent a very manly weekend together. Marco selected all the meals, "pasta with sauce, but not the sauce that's the same color as the pasta, the sauce that's red," "a hot dog on a stick that I can dip in ketchup," and pizza. He also enjoyed his first "milkSHAKE - and it's chocolate!" They fit in hosting the neighbors for dinner, baseball practice, Giants FanFest, golf and a SuperBowl party.
I'm never surprised by the amount of exciting things they do, but I was VERY surprised that I can home to an avid Violent Femmes fan. He knows All. The. Words.
Here's a little snippet of my little acapella punk:
