Grandparents Day

Barbara attended Grandparents Day as Marco's guest of honor!  He was so excited to have her at school.  Here's her synopsis - thanks Grandma!

The day was lovely! The school planned a beautiful mass, reception, photo and tour. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the whole school…not just Marco!

I sat near the altar where I was sure he would be able to see me, and got a huge smile and wave when he came in.

I made a small donation to the Heart Association and filled out three candy grams for Marco which he will receive on Valentine's Day, I presume.

The principal told me how happy they were to have Marco there.
His teacher referred to him as "Mr. Personality" three times.

I enjoyed my special day with Marco!

These are just a few of the familiar faces wandering the Corpus halls.  The Catholic school world is a small one.  :)

Rudy

On our holiday trip to Ventura, we were lucky enough to run into Santa and Mrs. Claus!  They were  escaping to the beach for quick relaxing trip before the holiday bustle.

Marco was excited but didn't really care about talking to him.  I said, "don't you want to tell him what you want?" He said, "Beyblades."  Can you imagine a 70-year old man hearing 'beyblades?'  Santa just winked at him and whispered, "I know."

Down the way, Marco launched into his favorite holiday humor when he saw a snowman.

"Hey Frosty! What did one snowman say to the other snowman?" [beat] "Do you smell carrots?"

And finally, we hit the Christmas carnival where our adventurous son went on all the scary rides and in the scariest moment of all.... won a carnival fish. Sigh. We named him Rudolph (of course.)

In what proved to be a Christmas miracle, Rudy lived through the jostling walk back to the boat, survived his first few days only on Christmas cookies and enjoyed a relaxing 6-hour drive home.... in a chardonnay bottle. He's a survivor. Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

Joey Sleepover

Marco was BEYOND thrilled to have Joey pick him up and school and stay with us for a sleepover.  Although I think Joey genuinely enjoyed his boy time, I think it's fair to say he may have been a little creeped out by his little devotee.

Strutting them around Oakland, I got many adoring looks, one "they look just alike," and one "they look just like their Mama."  :)  Ahh, sweet boys.

Here's the proof:

KIND

It's K week at school, so Marco was asked to do something Kind for someone in his family.  And what could be more Kind than bringing your Dad "k"offee in bed?
