Mama Cred.

Marco, on seeing my giant arm bruise, (whispering) "Whoa. Mama, that is so cool... Can I touch it?"

Before you ask: Yes, I was hit by a foul ball on a one in a million ricochet, yes I bruise easily, no I don't think it's broken and (by far the most popular and sick question) no, I didn't get to keep the ball.

Living off the land.

Like our fore fathers, we're living off our land.

I mean I'm sure we could live for awhile on these gorgeous, delicious artichokes, right?

Boys Night In

Jeff and I took Grandma to a play in Half Moon Bay (more accurately, she took us) and Marco stayed in Pacifica with Papa and Barney.

Marco loves spending time with Papa. He's his little pal and even gets to fall asleep next to him in his own recliner.

Barney stands guard.

We picked him up and took him home. The first thing he said in the morning was, "How did Papa's house become my house?"

Happy Easter!

A morning with Grammy and Granny, a Kit Kat for breakfast and a screaming haircut in the tub tired "somebunny" out before Tommy's party and Easter egg hunt.

Happy Easter to all!

Un caffe per favore

Marco is obsessed with coffee. So for a treat, he got a little with his cream.

"This is so delicious Mama! Can I dip my cereal bar in it a little bit?"

Uh, is this bad parenting or just about the best thing ever? I told him "Che brava! That's just how we do it! We dip our biscotti in our coffee!"

Boat Papa & Boat Grandma

We spent an impromptu weekend in Ventura on Poseidon. Weather was gorgeous, food was delicious and the harbor packed with adventure!

The harbor waters were packed with bait, which made for an incredible display of diving birds and wild packs of sea lions.

We had a quick visit with some college friends. Their son, Isaac, was a huge hit with Marco. They both like super heroes, books, Graham crackers and mischief.

We were also invited to a pizza party where Jeff's unofficial title was the pizza oven expert. You can imagine how he relished the role. Marco made a friend at the party, "Cash," and they nearly collapsed from exhaustion after an afternoon of playing in the sun.

Here's some proof:

Et tu Marco?

Jeff turns a blind eye to Marco's pickle obsession, but will he be able to see past his newest like? (Jeff's other food nemesis.)

I mean, what's next? White creamy condiments?

Boys' First Sleepover

We got to have Niko over for a last minute sleepover last night. The boys had played all day in water and sun, so they were very, very ready for bed. I told them a quick story about two superhero boys Super Niko and Super Marco who lived at home with their Mamas. A hush falls over the crowd... out. Niko woke up first and when Marco finally woke up, he looked so sad and said, "The sun already came up for Niko, but I wanted us to wake up together." Sweet boys.Niko asked if they could watch Strawberry Shortcake. And they did. I love a man who isn't afraid to show his softer side.
