Growth Spurt.

I can only hope Marco is going through a little growth spurt. He eats like a man.

Jeff took him out for breakfast yesterday – a fun treat when Dada has late morning appointments. He ate a plate of pancakes, a fruit bowl and bites of Jeff’s chorizo. On the way out, Loretta (Marco’s favorite waitress) gave him a GIANT cookie with M&Ms that will be doled out over several days. (See why she’s his favorite?)

Last night, we took him to sushi and he out ate Jeff and I. He had miso soup, half a bowl of edamame (or “mommies”), two skewers of chicken and zucchini and a bowl of white rice.

At home, he refuses to sit in any sort of booster seat or baby chair and nightly selects where he’d like to sit and demands his placemat. “I want sit in that chair.” Luckily, his voracious appetite keeps him seated. You can tell he’s eaten by the smattering of food on his face, chair and floor, and most notably, the tell tale sign of Dora placemat.

Although he stuffs himself, it always seems like he leaves a little room for more. “I get a treat now?”

Here’s the proof:

Or, perhaps I’ve only been taking pictures of him eating... nah.

Birthday Cake!?

What genius Starbucks marketer came up with mini-donuts called "birthday cake?" Marco couldn't believe his good fortune on a recent roadtrip.
Look how delicately he's holding his precious cargo. :)

The River City.

We got a quick taste of Summer in West Sac last weekend. And Marco likes the flavor.
Mom's neighborhood garage sale earned us three sunburns and $71. (What redhead Grammy only has sunblock #4?) A portion of her earnings were promptly spent on steak sandwiches for her two favorite people. :)

Happy Birthday Dada!

Thanks for always knowing what I like.

Parent of the Year

Sometimes Jeff and I just can't decide who will be parent of the year. You be the judge of Jeff's latest entry.
After a pretty tramatic ocean and sand dip, I further mortified my screaming child by stripping him down and showering him naked on the beach. I think my Dad is gunning for Papa of the year showing no fear as he walks hand-in-hand with naked Marco and my purse. Papa is not afraid to show his softer side.
