We've got some work to do now. Marco refuses Super Why, The Cat in the Hat and yes, even Dora. We've been in denial for some months, but it's true. Marco may have a mystery obsession. He's in serious love with Scooby Doo.
Mystery Inc is slightly altered from when I was a fan. Marco's favorites, Scooby and Shaggy, still eat everything in sight, the whole crew still dresses like it's the 70s - including bell bottoms and micro minis - and they still spew questionnable vernacular like "Jenkies!" and "Zoiks!" but they've adopted modern technologies like GPS, cell phones and the Internet.
My adventurous son always wants to know, "Is this a scary one Mama?" "Yes, baby." "Very scary, right?" "Yes." "Oh good, I love scary."
He told me to play monster with a blanket on my head, tore it off and exclaimed, "It's not a monster, it's only Mr. Potato Head!" I choose to believe this was the work of Scooby and not my giant potato-shaped head.
Marco bumped into me this morning and said, "Rorry Raggy." He paused with a serious face and then cracked up. I could not have been more proud of his comedic timing.

Next up, getting him to listen to me in exchange for a Scooby snack.
