Marco Crisp

In an Oakland resident stroke of luck, Marco's team got the A's!  Not the most thrilling turn of events for Giants fans, but certainly not the worst either.  Better yet, he's wearing lucky number 4.  Not only is his class number four, but it's also the number of Joey's favorite player, A's center fielder, Coco Crisp.

"Dad, I actually really like the A's because I was born in Oakland.  You like the Giants because you were born in San Francisco."

Six

We rang in SIX with a trek to Chuck E Cheese with a gaggle of kindergarten boys, golfing with his cousin, 48 cupcakes made to resemble his classmates (kinda), a breakfast cupcake in bed and a Warriors game.

We gave him beyblades from Japan and Jeff and I have never, ever, ever seen him so happy and appreciative.  Ever.

He woke up thinking his legs were longer and with a keen ability to suddenly care for himself.  He got himself ready with no jostling, brushed teeth without threatening and got an excellent note from school commending his behavior.

I hope SIX sticks.

Grandparents Day

Barbara attended Grandparents Day as Marco's guest of honor!  He was so excited to have her at school.  Here's her synopsis - thanks Grandma!

The day was lovely! The school planned a beautiful mass, reception, photo and tour. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the whole school…not just Marco!

I sat near the altar where I was sure he would be able to see me, and got a huge smile and wave when he came in.

I made a small donation to the Heart Association and filled out three candy grams for Marco which he will receive on Valentine's Day, I presume.

The principal told me how happy they were to have Marco there.
His teacher referred to him as "Mr. Personality" three times.

I enjoyed my special day with Marco!

These are just a few of the familiar faces wandering the Corpus halls.  The Catholic school world is a small one.  :)
