Tiny Chairs, part II

It's parent-teacher conference time again!

We took our tiny seats at a tiny table with Johnny Bear for the Marco updates.  He's happy that he comes to the table, recognizes letters, needs work on number recognition, great at drawing shapes (a flawless triangle) and actually draws.  I couldn't believe that, but he had proof!

It's charming that this seems to be the three of us.  BUT, if it were the three of us, we would all have giant heads, so I'm pretty positive that's Marco in the middle flanked by Benny and Joaquin.

Johnny Bear categorized Marco as a "leader."  Our questions:  Can you still be a leader without any followers?  Are you sure he's not just a bossy only child?  Do they have power play with him? and Does he listen at school?  His responses were not to mistake defiance for independence (hmph) and this time is the real beginnings of his personality over his behavior.  Johnny Bear said that Marco is a leader and will continue to be.

These teachers know just how to spin it.

In the meantime, stop by for a round of Go Fish or Chutes and Ladders anytime!

Dog Days

One of Marco's school buddies offered to take him home with them for a playdate.  Did I mention I love pre-school friends?  Then, I got this photo and text from the Mom...

"He literally crawled most of the way home from school.  Literally.  Being a dog.  Smelled Brennan before Brennan could pet him.  Fake peed on a hydrant."

Mortified, but never been so happy to see the word "fake."

Movies in the Park

While the Dads are away, the kids and moms will play.  I think it's fair to say that we loved Kung Fu Panda in the park, including a live karate demonstration.  Was it was the dinner of red vines, popcorn, juice and skinny girl margaritas or the 10:00 bed time?  Either way.

(Love his arm around his tall honey.)

Me and my mothers.

My mothers (standard and grand versions) and I spent a lovely, relaxing day pampered by sun, dim sum courtesy of Chef Jeff and an occasional cool down from Marco's water gun.

Marco made me these gems at school.  The one on the right is a cross-eyed butterfly pen holder made by his handprints (I know, someone had to tell me too).

I asked if I could bring my new mug to use at work and he said, "Oh yes!  You can use it at work for your tea, your coffee and your wine!  You know, stuff like that."  Made sense to me, so I ran the idea by my boss.  It's being considered.
It's good to be queen.
