Hot Guy

The Avengers are a big hit around our house these days.  The movie is in the movie theatres, so the stores are flooded with gear and the commercials are running full time.  The film is rated Too Grown Up for Marco, but luckily, there's a cartoon version streaming on Netflix for all you parents out there.  Phewf. 

Enter Marco's latest superhero obsession:  "Hot Guy who has a bow and arrow." 

Well, his real name is Hawkeye, but it's taken Marco awhile to get that.  I think the bow and arrow obsession also stems from all the Hunger Games stuff out there.  He loved the People magazine cover with Katniss Everdeen.  :)

So, Marco wants a bow and arrow, "so bad!"  There is a bow and arrow for kids, a nerf one, but it's rated for ages 6-8, plus Marco's fighting and weaponry doesn't really need to be fed by any more toys.

Marco found the perfect stick for a bow at the park.  Add six rubber bands, a scarf, six glow sticks, a pencil, a tennis ball container and duct tape, and sheesh, you've got yourself a hot guy.  (Works pretty darned well too, if I do say so myself.)

A sunny day let us enjoy a beautiful, traditional Easter complete with an egg hunt, our extended family and, err, pizza.
Hey, sometimes you have to invent new holiday traditions, like the "peepza," a peeps, chocolate and graham cracker oven creation. RIP marshmallow chicks.







After 100 M&ms and 3,000 jelly beans, it turned into *that* kind of party.

Fears

I asked Marco what scared him.  Here are his top five.

"I'm afraid of:

Dada cutting himself with a knife.  Because one time, when he was a little boy, he reached a knife that Papa left out and he got in trouble.  You use the knife to scrape on your face, it cuts your little hairs, but it's really a knife and you shouldn't touch it. 

Moths stinging me.  Benny knew a girl, a big girl - a dolt! - who was playing tennis and she had a soda and then she was thirsty and went to take a drink and a moth had climbed in it!  And it stung her!  Or, maybe it was a bee.

Captain America thinking I'm a bad guy.  (Enough said.)

Monsters.  I mean, tiny monsters I can defeat.  But if they're big, I have to jump really high to poke his eyeball or bash his toe with a stick so he says "oooh!"

Cars.  Because they can break people if they're in the street not holding hands."
