I like big butts and I cannot lie.

Marco had his four-month appointment today and passed with flying colors. The handsome devil weighed in at 15 pounds, 2 ounces and 25 inches long. Zowee! When I picked him up at daycare, he had just woken up from an hour and a half nap, so he was in a GREAT mood. He was talking and laughing through the whole appointment. While we were talking to the doctor, he even did a 360 on the table. The doctor said, "Is he always like this? So fun?"

He's on track for all the four month marks. The doctor told us what to expect by the time he is six months and said, "But I would expect that he'd do those things sooner judging from what he's doing now." Uh-huh, that's right. She knew just how to play it. "Charming" and "smart" aren't words that they technically offer to parents, but I could practically read it in her eyes.

At two months, he was rocking 33%, 34% and 36%. Now our little prince boasts 54th percentile in weight, 51st percentile in height and 74th percentile in head circumference. I guess that crazy lady in TJ's wasn't crazy after all. Doh! He's finally fitting in with his cousins.

Go chubby, go chubby, getcha diaper on.

Mo' Ventura shots.

What's the point of having a kid if you can't dress him up like a 1930s fisherman or make him wear your boat's logo apparel? I mean really. Papa John and the baby have many things in common. Like, Marco can't concentrate on anything but the camera. Really. A total Andreotti.
Belly up to the bar baby. Did I mention "Andreotti?" Marco's life vest. HA!
Marco and his bisnonna Ila. We got to visit three times. FYI - the old folks at Grandma's place LOVE LOVE babies.
On the drive home, we stopped in Gilroy and got to visit Jeff's family. Here's Marco with his other bisnonna Eda.
And his great great zia Marietta. Can that be right?

Arms Up!

Our first successful attempt at catching Marco giggling on film. Hee hee!

Mr. Mom takes Ventura... blogging from Poseidon.

I've been on a blogger vacation and a momma vacation. Day four of my back-to-work duty, I headed off to a four-day conference in Newport Beach. I couldn't miss it since I'm on the board of directors and let's be honest... what a great transition back to work. Jeff Mr. Mommed for the week and he was stellar.

We were hoping to get out to the Channel Islands this Memorial Day weekend to take Marco for his first Island trip, but the weather doesn't seem to be cooperating, so we're docked locked. I mean, Marco is rocking every fish and nautical-themed outfit and toy he has - and yet, no sun. Where the heck are the Beatles when you need them? Doo doo doo doo... We were forced to entertain ourselves with wine tasting, an awesome baby and food, food and food.

Linda and Jeff dorked out with a neighbor boat bread maker for HOURS at Friday night Happy Hour (less babies than East Bay Happy Hour.) It was a painful conversation for my Dad and I but we tried to bite our tongues since we're no dummies... we wanted to eat their bread.
Here's the business:

Marco in his outfit from Grandma Linda.
Wine tasting. Note our casual sweat outfits not intended to wear out. Weather... boo.As it turns out, Papa John is a sucker for giggling babies wearing Hawaiian print onesies. Cracking knees and backaches nonewithstanding... he's shaping up to be quite the potential babysitter. Well....
We napped. Marco even had a bath in the galley sink.

Ventura... to be continued...
